Initial Parent Intake often includes the Sensory Profile checklist completed by the parents or teachers. This functions as the baseline information regarding the child's sensory processing and integration skills. Other information is gathered through interviews with the parents during the consultation with the clinic director.
An Initial baseline test and a meeting with the speech therapist are required. If the student has a current speech report that clearly describes the student's deficits, no other testing is required.
A simple assessment is performed to learn the baseline measures (what level is a student functioning at various skills?) Sub standardized and or standardized tests are used to complete this test. Test results and interpretations are presented in a report.
The assesment may include in depth evaluation using various standardized tests such as Visual Perceptual tests, Visual Integration, Gross motor, Fine motor, Sensory motor and Social Skills Evaluations. This also includes comprehensive reports and interpretation of the tests results using medical terminology and or IEP (school) related language.
