The Lighthouse Project was founded in 1998 by Rondalyn Varney Whitney, the author of two well known books dealing with Non-verbal Learning Disability (NVLD). Since January 2005, Lighthouse Project has been under the management and the ownership of Kohar Enemark, clinic director.
Lighthouse Project is an Occupational Therapy and Speech Therapy center dedicated to serving children and adolescents with social skills deficits, sensory integration challenges, movement delays, gross and fine motor delays, visual perceptual difficulties and speech delays. We specialize in clients with Non-verbal Learning Disorders (NVLD), Asperger's (AS), high-functioning Autism (HF), Attention deficits (ADHD and ADD), and children with Sensory Integration (SID) and Processing challenges. Our speech therapists are specialized in pragmatic and language delays.
Lighthouse Project has been providing school based services to various Bay Area school districts since 1997. Our staff are extremely knowledgeable about school related programs and experts in Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
We also provide specialty services such as: Interactive Metronome (I.M.) with the unique combination of sensory interventions. The Listening Program and the highly acclaimed Handwriting Without Tears program. Our parents' favorite is the Alert Program for self regulation.
We provide consultation to parents, schools, and professionals that are working with your child. At our clinic we provide an open gym with therapeutic equipment which offers an exciting variety of sensory gross motor activities, balancing, and motor planning activities. We believe in the importance of accepting the children for their strengths, and supporting them in using those strengths to address their frustrations and challenges. The Therapists employed by Lighthouse Project are dedicated, licensed occupational and speech and language therapists that are ready to serve you and your child.
