Description

Evaluation
|
A Lighthouse Project therapist will provide a
comprehensive evaluation to assess a child’s abilities and disabilities, and
write up a report including recommendations for interventions at home and
school.
|
|
Case Review / Parent Intake
|
Parents are asked to complete an in-depth questionnaire
describing their child’s history, strengths, and weaknesses. In addition,
copies of any existing reports from professionals such as psychologists,
occupational therapists, speech therapists, neurologists, teachers, etc. are
provided to the clinic in advance. All this data is reviewed by the Clinic Director at The Lighthouse Project. Then a one-hour
conference is scheduled to review the findings, and develop a short-term and
long-term plan for successful interventions.

Lighthouse Readiness Center
|
The Readiness Center combines three aspects of practice into one packaged agenda. It offers occupational therapy interventions, helps develop communication skills, and teaches appropriate social skills in an intensive daily program. The center caters for children that are having difficulties adjusting to their preschools due to social, sensory, or communication challenges. It prepares the children for a successful transition from the Readiness Center into their future educational settings.
