Changes That May Occur from "The Listening Program"


Modulation:
+ Ability to stay calm while receiving sensory input
+ Awareness of the environment
+ Motivation
+ Organization
+ Eye Contact
- Sensory defensive reactions to sound, touch, and movement
- Self-stimulation behaviors
- Improved ability to attend and focus
* Changes in arousal state
* Improved awareness of bowel and bladder function and independence in self care
* Better modulation in sleep/wake and hunger/thirst cycles

Postural Tone, Attention, Body Awareness:
+ Balance and coordination
+ Understanding of physical space
+ Ability to cross midline
+ Ability to sustain posture
+ Postural security

Motor Control:
+ Bilateral coordination
+ Motor Planning
+ Fine Motor skills (including handwriting)
+ Perceptual abilities

Spatial/Temporal Organization:
+ Timing of motor movements
+ Ability to move through space
+ Visual-Motor skills
+ Discrimination of dimension and direction of sound

Language/Communication:
* Changes in expressive and receptive language
* Improvement in auditory processing of language
* Emotional expressiveness
